Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join Chip Chip Golf?



If you want to join group classes for your child between age 2 to 5, please go to our Class Schedule and select your suitable time and package. We will contact you via Whatsapp to confirm your details and payment.

If you would like to start "Private group Lessons" or our "Elite Mentorship Program", please contact us and fill in your details. We will reach out to you for more details as soon as possible.

What if your selected course and start date has reached full capacity?



We will ask you to consider other available courses and dates. If they are also full, we will put you on the waitlist.

Can I still sign up after the course has commenced?



Yes, we welcome you to join at any time of the term.

Can I drop out and get a refund after the course has commenced?



We would love to join and stay until the end of the course. If you have to leave early, we wouldn’t be able to offer you a refund unfortunately.

How old does my child have to join Chip Chip Golf?



We offer three age-group classes:
1) The Starters (age 1.5 - 2.5), parent/guardian participation is required
2) The Toddlers (age 2.5 - 3.5), parent/guardian participation is required
3) The Birdies (age 3.5 - 4.5), parent/guardian participation is required
4) The Eagles (age 4.5 - under 6), parent/guardian participation is not required, but you may still be asked to participate in the class together.
5) The Albatross (age 6-12), parent/guardian participation is not required.

Your child should be walking comfortably in order to join our camp. If your child is not able to walk comfortably yet, we would advise you to wait until they can do so.

Do boys and girls participate in the same class?



Yes, all our classes are co-ed. Boys and girls will take the course together.

Are parents/guardians required to participate in the classes?



Yes, if your child is in the Starters (age 1.2 - 2.5), Toddlers (age 2.5 - 3.5) and Birdies class (age 3.5 - 4.5) for safety reasons.

If your child is in the Eagles class (age 4.5 - under 6). While your participation may not always be required, we may still ask you to participate. Afterall, we would like everyone to enjoy our sessions together!

Your presence is always required during class for safety reasons.

How is a typical class structured?



A 45-minute session will always include warm-up stretches, basic golf technique, golf-specific motor skills and hand-eye coordination training.

Will the kids play with real golf clubs?



To ensure safety, no real golf clubs and balls will be used in class for ages 1.5-6. All games are designed with toy golf clubs and other kids-friendly equipment.

Real golf clubs and golf balls are used in the Albatross class for ages 6-12.

What should I wear to attend the classes?



Collared shirts are part of the dress code in golf. We do encourage our Chip Chip golfers to wear a collared shirt to class if they have one. Our classes are indoors and outdoors, and we are activities-based. Please come to class in active wear and get ready to move. To stay hydrated, bring enough water and snacks. Please also bring a towel and spare clothes to change, just in case we will get wet.

Under what circumstances will classes be cancelled?



Class will be cancelled under the following weather conditions:

If the Hong Kong Observatory raises:
- Red or Black Rainstorm warning
- Typhoon No. 8 Signal

Otherwise, cancellation due to bad weather or other exceptional circumstances is at the discretion of the organiser. Hong Kong is subject to bad weather during the course of the year and the safety of our students is paramount. We are aware of what to do in adverse weather conditions.

In case of cancellations by the course organiser, we will credit cancelled sessions against any future payment – no refunds will be given.

If any sessions are cancelled by the organiser for reasons other than inclement weather, the organiser reserves the right to arrange make-up classes on later dates. If you can’t attend the make-up classes on the scheduled dates, we will credit the cancelled lessons against any future payment.

How will I know if a class is cancelled?



It is communicated in the WhatsApp class group. It is important that you provide correct contact details. We always try to cancel a class at least an hour before the class is supposed to begin to leave enough time for alternative arrangements to be made for the children, but understand that weather can change quickly and this is not always possible.

What if my child is sick and cannot attend a class, will I get a refund?



We understand that this would happen. Please present a doctor’s note, the absent class will be credited to a future class.
If you are not able to present a doctor’s note, we can’t credit your class unfortunately.

What if my child needs to miss a class due to travel, will I get a refund?



Please notify us no later than 48 hours prior to class starts, we will credit to a future class. Otherwise, a late cancelled class will not be credited.

Can I transfer my paid course fee to another person?



Unfortunately, we have a no-transfer policy.

Will my child get expelled from a class or the course?



Golf is a game of sport that teaches and demands self-discipline, integrity and etiquette. If a child misbehaves and disturbs the coaches and/or other attendees in class, warnings will be given. If inappropriate behaviour persists, we reserve the right to expel students from a lesson, a block of lessons, or the entire course for behaviour considered unacceptable to the coaches and / or fellow attendees. No refunds will be given under these circumstances.

Can I take photos / videos?



Taking photos or videos of your own child is allowed. However, please stop when you are asked by the coaches or other parents/guardians. However, do not post any content of other children and/or identify their names without the consent of their parents.

Please be sensitive to the feelings of other children and their parents. Do not take photos/videos of others and post them on social media if others feel uncomfortable or if you are asked not to.

Please always ask, consent is a must.

Is the organiser going to take photos/videos?



Yes, we may take promotional photographs and videos of our sessions for marketing and promotional purposes, and we will not identify any participant by name without prior consent of the parent.

My child is advanced for their age. Can he/she move up to the next age group early?



We appreciate children all develop differently, we do not have a strict rule about when children should move up (or down) a class. We recommend that you should always start in the prescribed age group for your child. Speak to the coach about your child’s progress and they will advice on whether or not they are able to change classes after the course has commenced if the coach recommends it.

Have the coaches done background checks with the Hong Kong Police?



Yes, all our coaches have acquired certifications of no sexual conviction record from the Hong Kong Police.
